ShinyHunters, a hacker organization, says that Pizza Hut Australia exposed the personal information of one million customers.

According to the ShinyHunters hacking organization, in the past few months, more than 30 million order records and the personal details of more than a million Pizza Hut Australia consumers were stolen.

According to Data Breaches, the group got into the Amazon Web Services buckets belonging to the pizza restaurant “using multiple access points” and took the following information:

The first and last name of the customer are used as the shop ID. The email addresses and mailing addresses of customers and clients are also included.
Customer phone numbers, encrypted customer credit card information, customer password hashes Customers’ password hashes
It has been alleged that the information that was taken will either be sold to other cybercriminals or released on the internet if ShinyHunters is not paid $300,000.

It is uncertain whether data regulators and law enforcement agencies in Australia have been informed, and it has been several days since Pizza Hut Australia has made any public comment about the alleged data breach.

The hacker organization known as ShinyHunters rose to international attention in 2020 after being responsible for attacks against more than 60 businesses.

Among the businesses that came under attack were those that provided online dating services, a website that allows users to create photo books called Chatbooks, and stock trading platforms.

The crew was so successful that they were even able to steal more than 500 gigabytes of source code from Microsoft by accessing the company’s secret repository on GitHub.

ShinyHunters is still a significant challenge for businesses that have the responsibility of protecting the personal information of their consumers, despite the fact that members of the hacking gang have been captured.
