After a summer of strikes, North Korea is reportedly poised to withdraw more than $40 million in Bitcoin.

Following a series of high-profile thefts of bitcoin, a North Korean malicious hacking organization that is funded by the state is set to cash out millions of dollars.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has issued a warning to the cryptocurrency industry this week, citing its observations of blockchain activity in relation to the theft of hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of cryptocurrencies over the course of the past several months.

The DPRK is allegedly using criminal enterprises to fund the dictatorship, and the FBI has vowed that it will “continue to expose and combat” this practice. Theft of virtual currency and other forms of cybercrime are included in these initiatives.
